Two Battling Bishops Earn USA South Weekly Awards

Fayetteville, N.C. - The USA South has released its weekly awards for October 24th, and N.C. Wesleyan is pleased to announce that senior Chris Richardson of football and freshman Kobi Boompong of men's soccer have garnered accolades. in their respective sports.

Football Special Teams Player of the Week
Chris Richardson, N.C. Wesleyan - The Chesapeake, Virginia senior place kicker tallied 14 points on three field goals and five point-after-touchdowns in a 44-0 win over USA South foe Greensboro. Richardson was perfect on his three field goal attempts of 25, 22, and 30 yards. He was also true on all five of his PATs. 

Men's Soccer Rookie of the Week
Kobi Boompong, N.C. Wesleyan - The freshman midfielder from Bakoteh, The Gambia notched two goals in a 2-1 week for the Bishops versus USA South competition as the team secured a share of the league's regular season title. In a 4-0 win over Methodist, Boompong scored an insurance goal in the 55th minute, and in a 3-1 victory over Piedmont, he tallied the match's first goal in the 16th minute.
