Rocky Mount, N.C. / Danville, Va. - The Battling Bishop men's and women's basketball teams battled through four USA South contests this weekend, each going winless in league play.
NCWC's women fell to Greensboro College on Saturday by a 70-62 score, then dropped a 56-42 decision to William Peace on Sunday. The rims were not friendly to the Bishops on their home court as Wesleyan struggled offensively both days. Junior KeChae Parker turned in back-to-back double-doubles, tallying 13 points/10 rebounds versus the Pride and notching 15 points/14 boards against the Pacers.
Wesleyan's men suffered a similar fate, beginning with a 78-62 loss to Ferrum College on Saturday at home. The Bishops proceeded to drop a much tighter 76-72 decision at Averett University on Sunday. Junior Adrian Moore averaged a double-double of 20 points and 11 rebounds during the two-game set, while freshman A.J. Frye chipped in over 18 points per contest and shot nearly 74 percent from the floor.
Next up for the Bishop men (8-8, 1-4 USA South) is a Wednesday night tilt with rival Methodist University in Rocky Mount. Tip-off is slated for 7:30pm in Everett Gymnasium. Wesleyan's women (7-10, 2-4 USA South) continue their current homestand next weekend with league match-ups versus Meredith College and Averett University on Saturday and Sunday, both at 2:00pm.
