Rocky Mount, N.C. - In this weekend's tennis action at the Slick Family Foundation Tennis Center, N.C. Wesleyan split a USA South doubleheader with Methodist University on Saturday, with the men adding a win over #32 Pacific on Sunday.

Versus Methodist on Saturday, the Bishop men (14-4, 7-0 USA South) cruised to a 9-0 sweep of the Monarchs. Led by top seeds Sebastian Sikh and Ioannis Brokakis, Wesleyan followed up a trio of victories in doubles with six straight-set wins in singles action.

On the women's side, NCWC (5-5, 3-1 USA South) did not fair as well in a 7-2 defeat -- the Bishops' first USA south loss of the season. Junior Florencia Sorrentino teamed with freshman Manuela Cano for an 8-3 win at #3 doubles, while freshman Nicole Halabi was a 7-5, 7-5 winner at #3 singles versus MU's Sam Munze.

Wesleyan's men were back in action on Sunday versus 32nd-ranked Pacific University (Ore.), turning in a 6-3 victory -- their second win over a nationally-ranked opponent in the past eight days.

In doubles play, Sikh and Brokakis teamed for an 8-4 win at the top seed, while sophomore J.D. Telles and freshman David Appelqvist were 8-5 winners at #3. The Boxers (6-5) lone point came in a tight 9-7 decision at #2. The Bishops proceeded to take four of six matches in singles action as Sikh, Telles, Mark Sokolov, and Richard Gende won at #1, #3, #5, and #6, respectively. Both of Pacific's points came in 3-set wins, while Gende's 3-setter at the 6th slot sealed the match.
