Greensboro, N.C. / Danville, Va. - N.C. Wesleyan's tennis teams wrapped up USA South play over the weekend, with both the men and women claiming wins over Greensboro and Averett. With the two victories, NCWC's men finished a perfect 10-0 in league play to clinch their ninth straight USA South Regular Season title. The Bishops, in fact, have now won 71 consecutive regular season conference matches dating back to 2008 and 88 straight versus league opponents when including the USA South Tournament.

At Greensboro on Saturday, both teams won in 9-0 sweeps. The men tallied a trio of points by default, while surrendering just two total games in the match. In similar fashion, the women earned two points by default and gave up up just one game total.

Versus Averett on Sunday, both teams again won by identical scores, 7-2. On the men's side, the Bishop duos of Sebastian Sikh/Ioannis Brokakis and J.D. Telles/David Appelqvist were 8-2 and 8-5 winners at #1 and #3 doubles, respectively. Those same four went on to tally singles victories at #1 through #4, while junior David Chang added a straight-set win at #6 (6-1, 6-2).

In women's action, NCWC picked up points at #2 and #3 doubles as Ana Diaz/Nicole Halabi and Florencia Sorrentino/Manuela Cano cruised to 8-1 and 8-0 wins. The Cougars managed a point at top-seeded singles, but the Bishops swept #2 through #6 as Stephany Barbera, Halabi, Diaz, Andrea Tobar, and Cano all won in straights, giving up just one game combined.

With a 6-1 USA South mark, Wesleyan's women secured the #2 seed in the East Division for next week's USA South Tournament. The Bishops will kick off tourney play on Thursday in LaGrange, Ga. versus the #3 seed in the West Division.
