Rocky Mount, N.C. - The N.C. Wesleyan Department of Athletics has announced the restructuring of its sports medicine staff, as well as one new addition to its athletic training family. Long-time Wesleyan staffer Carol Carson has been promoted from her role as Head Athletic Trainer to Assistant Athletics Director for Medical Services. Assistant ATC Tim Donovan has also been promoted, taking over as the Battling Bishops' Head Athletic Trainer. Additionally, the Bishops are pleased to introduce Tara Greco as the latest Assistant Athletic Trainer join their staff.

Carson will be entering her 30th year at North Carolina Wesleyan in the fall of 2017. Her new role as Assistant A.D. for Medical Services will see the 2006 Athletics Hall of Fame inductee handle student-athlete insurance, medical clearance, physician communication, and drug testing. A 1983 graduate of East Carolina University, she will also serve as Wesleyan's Health Administrator with the NCAA and continue in her role as Senior Woman Administrator. 

Entering his seventh year with the Battling Bishops, Donovan takes over as Head Athletic Trainer and will handle all athletic training needs for our student-athletes. A native of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, he came to Wesleyan from Ohio University where he completed his M.S. in Athletic Training in June of 2011. Donovan had previously received his B.S. degree from Slippery Rock University in 2009.

Greco comes to Rocky Mount fresh off a two-year graduate assistantship at Arkansas State University, where she recently completed her M.S. in Exercise Science.  She had previously received her B.S. in Athletic Training from Salisbury University in May of 2015. Greco has experience with a variety of sports, highlighted by an internship covering Division I football at the University of Tennessee. As a student athletic trainer at Salisbury, she covered both lacrosse and football, while her time at ASU was focused primarily on cross country/track & field.
