Wesleyan's Njie and Cline Earn USA South Weekly Honors

Fayetteville, N.C. - The USA South Athletic Conference has released is weekly awards for October 9th, with N.C. Wesleyan earning a pair of honors. Soccer's Baboucarr Njie and volleyball's Callie Cline were each recognized in their sports.

Men's Soccer Player of the Week
Baboucarr Njie, N.C. Wesleyan - The sophomore midfielder from Pipeline, The Gambia scored three goals with one assist for seven total points in a 2-0 week for the Bishops versus USA South competition. In a 3-0 win over Averett, Njie tallied the first score of the game, thus the eventual game-winner. In a 9-0 victory over Brevard, Njie netted two goals and assisted on a third. This is his first award of the season.

Volleyball Rookie of the Week
Callie Cline, N.C. Wesleyan - The freshman outside hitter from Stanfield, North Carolina averaged 2.80 kills, 3.30 digs and 0.90 blocks per set for the Bishops last week versus USA South competition. In a 3-1 loss to Methodist, Cline tallied a double-double with 11 kills and 13 digs to go along with five blocks. In a 3-0 loss to Averett, she notched eight kills, 14 digs, three assists, and one block. Finally, in a 3-0 win over Pfeiffer, Cline totaled nine kills, six digs, three service aces, and three blocks. This is her third award of the season.
