Fayetteville, N.C. - The USA South Athletic Conference has released its weekly awards for February 12th, and a trio of Battling Bishops have been honored in their respective sports of men's basketball and baseball.

Men's Basketball Player of the Week
Adrian Moore, N.C. Wesleyan - The senior guard from Plymouth, North Carolina averaged 23.0 points, 8.7 rebounds, 3.3 assists and 3.0 steals per game as the Battling Bishops posted a 3-0 record last week versus USA South competition, all on the road, to clinch the East Division title. In a 93-84, overtime, win over Methodist, Moore totaled 33 points, nine rebounds, four assists and three steals. In a 91-87 victory over LaGrange, he notched a double-double of 20 points and 12 rebounds with three assists and one steal. Finally in an 84-69 win over Huntingdon, Moore posted 16 points, five rebounds, five steals and three assists. 

Baseball Pitcher of the Week
Nate Gardner, N.C. Wesleyan - The junior from Hertford, North Carolina earned a victory over Eastern Mennonite in his only appearance on the mound last week for the Battling Bishops. In seven shutout innings, he allowed one hit with zero walks and four strikeouts to give NCWC the season-opening, 2-0, win.

Baseball Rookie Pitcher of the Week
Drew Tubb, N.C. Wesleyan - The freshman from Tampa, Florida, in his first collegiate start, picked up the win over Eastern Mennonite, 4-0, by throwing five shutout innings in his only appearance on the mound for the Battling Bishops last week. Tubb allowed just two hits while striking out three.
