Rocky Mount, N.C. - The North Carolina Wesleyan Department of Athletics hosted its 49th Annual Awards Ceremony on Wednesday, April 23rd, in Minges Auditorium of the Dunn Center. Coaches, staff and student-athletes came together to celebrate the accomplishments of both individuals and teams from the 2013-2014 season.
Among those athletes and teams, NCWC boasted 27 USA South All-Conference selections, two Players of the Year, two All-Americans, two USA South Championships and one NCAA Tournament berth. Highlighting the night’s winners were the honors given for the Male and Female Student-Athlete of the Year, along with the Male and Female Athlete of the Year.
Academically, senior Paige Pritchett of softball garnered Female Student-Athlete of the Year accolades, while senior Allen-Michael Wilson of golf took home Male Student-Athlete of the Year honors. Majoring in Education and Biology, respectively, both are current members of the President’s Honors List, as well as the USA South All-Academic Team.
The final awards of the night saw women's basketball senior Tiffany Bell named Female Athlete of the Year, and men's basketball senior Josh Morrison tabbed Male Athlete of the Year. Both were First Team All-Conference selections who eclipsed the 1,000-point scoring mark for their careers this season.
The evening concluded with a viewing of the department's 2013-2014 Highlight Video.
