Staylor and Wiltse Garner Academic All-Region Status

Rocky Mount, N.C. - The 2014 Capital One Academic All-District® Soccer Teams, selected by the College Sports Information Directors of America, have been released to recognize the nation’s top student-athletes for their combined performances athletically and in the classroom. North Carolina Wesleyan is pleased to announce that senior Rebecca Staylor of women's soccer and sophomore Drew Wiltse of men's soccer were honored as District 5 selections.

The Academic All-District ® teams are divided into eight geographic districts across the United States and Canada. Nominees must have been a starter or an important reserve for his team, while maintaining at least a 3.3 GPA or higher in the classroom.

A Pre-Law and Criminal Justice major, Staylor far-exceeded the criteria as a two-time member of NCWC's President's List and USA South Academic All-Conference honoree. On the field, the Virginia Beach native currently leads her team in scoring with a conference-best 18 goals to her credit.

Like Staylor, Wiltse also far-exceeced the criteria in his chosen fields of Accounting and Business Administration. A native of Centreville, Virginia, the sophomore has started every match for the Bishops this season as a defender/midfielder, serving as team captain. He, too, is a member of NCWC's President's List and is a USA South Academic All-Conference honoree.

The NCWC Department of Athletics congratulates Becca and Drew on this noteworthy accomplishment!
