Rusty Dail was a first team Dixie All-Conference selection
in 1989, the same season that the Bishops won their first
baseball National Championship. An outfielder, he is
considered one of greatest batters in school history.
At the the time of his induction, Dail's 220 single season
at bats ranked first all-time at Wesleyan and fifth
nationally. Additionally, his single season marks
for hits (84) and runs scored (66) ranked second and
fifth, respectively, in NCWC baseball history. Finally,
career statistics in runs scored (206/#2 at Wesleyan), hits
(251/#1 at Wesleyan) and triples (15/#1 at Wesleyan) ranked him
among the top-15 nationally in each category.
