Jennifer Foreman was a standout soccer player for the Battling Bishops from 1996 to 1999 and was a four-time All-Conference selection and two-time Most Valuable Player. Foreman’s 1999 senior season saw her pick up the most notable accomplishment of her career when she became the first Wesleyan goalkeeper in history to achieve All-American status.  She later earned recognition as the NCWC Female Athlete of the Year that same season.

Foreman’s 1999 campaign remains one of the most impressive in history. Her program-record 16 shutouts was the 3rd highest total in NCAA history at the time, and it currently remains in the top-10 today.  She also completed her NCWC tenure that season with a program-record 49 career shutouts and 7,435 minutes played in goal, which ranked 2nd in NCAA history at the time and remains in the top-5 all-time.  Foreman, in fact, is still ranked in the NCAA’s top-25 in goals-against-average and shutout percentage.

Not only did Foreman enjoy individual success, but she was also a part of four conference championship teams that never lost a league match over her four-year career. She and her Bishops posted an impressive 58-15-10 overall record during that span and made three NCAA Tournament appearances.  Additionally, her 1999 team set program records for games played (23), most wins (17), most conference wins (7), consecutive wins (10), longest unbeaten streak (21), fewest losses (2), fewest conference losses (0), most ties (4), winning percentage (.895), shutouts (16) and consecutive shutouts (6).

A native of Wilton, Connecticut and a member of the DIAC/USA South Conference’s Silver Anniversary Team, Foreman is a 2000 graduate of the College with a degree in Biology.
