Chris Webb proudly represents the women’s soccer and basketball programs as a 2009 Hall of Fame inductee.  The all-time leading scorer in soccer and the all-time assists leader in basketball, she is regarded as one of the best dual-sport athletes to ever play for the Battling Bishops.

As a member of the women’s soccer program from 1991-1994, Webb made her mark as a prolific scorer by tallying a program-record 63 career goals and 154 points.  Her 28 career assists rank second all-time, while she currently ranks in the top five in season goals (19), assists (10), and points (45).  Perhaps most impressively, Webb remains the only player in history to notch 19 goals in a season on two separate occasions (1991, 1993), both of which were program records at the time of her departure.

Webb was a four-time First Team All-Conference and All-Region performer during her career – the first player in soccer history to attain such a feat.  She led her teams to an impressive 51-16-7 over four seasons of play, including two regular season conference championships, four NCAA Tournament berths, and the program’s only NCAA Final Four appearance.

The Dayton, Ohio native brought more of the same success to the hardwood. She garnered First-Team All-Conference honors during her 1994-95 senior year after setting program records for assists (204) and steals (94) that still hold true today.  Webb, in fact, led the entire nation in assists that season, and the talented guard still holds career records in those same two categories with 606 assists and 281 steals over her four-year career.

Webb helped lead head coach John Brackett’s Battling Bishops to a 63-41 combined record over four seasons, including the only 20-win season in program history (1993-94).  That same 1993-94 season saw women’s basketball earn its first regular season and conference tournament championships, as well as the program’s first NCAA Tournament berth.  The fifth inductee in women’s hoops, Webb finished her career as a member of the 1,000-point club with 1,079 career points.

After graduating from in NCWC in 1996 with a degree in Criminal Justice, the bulk of Webb’s career has been spent coaching soccer. After serving as an assistant at East Carolina University alongside her former Wesleyan coach Rob Donnenwirth (‘07), she took her talents to Elon University, where she was head coach of the Phoenix for three seasons.
