Carol Carson begins her 35th year at North Carolina Wesleyan University. After serving as the Battling Bishops' Head Athletic Trainer for 29 years, the Statesville native was promoted to Assistant Athletics Director for Medical Services in the summer of 2017. Carson handles student-athlete insurance, medical clearance, physician communication, and drug testing in this role. 

Additionally, she serves as both Health Administrator and Senior Woman Administrator with the NCAA. Beginning in the fall of 2018, Carson also serves as the assistant Compliance/Eligibility Coordinator with the NCAA along with Head Men's Basketball Coach John Thompson.

Carson graduated from East Carolina University in 1983 with a bachelor's degree in School and Community Health with an emphasis in Sports Medicine. She went on to earn her Master's in Health and Physical Education the following year.

In addition to her duties, Carson is an instructor within NCWC's Exercise Science department and actively participates in the Battling Bishops' Fellowship of Christian Athletes. She is a 2006 NCWC Athletics Hall of Fame inductee and resides in Rocky Mount.
