Rocky Mount, N.C. - The 2016 College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) Academic All-District™ Baseball Teams have been released to recognize the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances athletically and in the classroom. North Carolina Wesleyan had a player earn recognition as senior Ciro Norzagaray was honored in District 5.

Norzagaray picks up the first Academic All-District honor of his career after recently garnering NCWC Male Student-Athlete of the Year accolades mid-April. Majoring in Business Adminstration, he is a current member of the President's List and USA South All-Academic Team. On the field, he garnered First Team All-Conference and All-Tournament accolades this season, graduating as a four-time All-Conference selection and three-time MVP. The Mexico City native turned in a team-best .403 batting average in USA South play, blasting four homers and driving in 30 runs while posting a 1.86 ERA on the mound.

The Academic All-District™ teams are divided into eight geographic districts across the United States and Canada. Only first teams were chosen for district recognition, so all honorees will advance to the CoSIDA Academic All-America® Team ballot, where first-, second- and third-team All-America honorees will be selected later this month.
