Rocky Mount, N.C. - The N.C. Wesleyan Department of Athletics is pleased to announce that senior linebacker James Wallace has become the first Bishop player to garner Small College Player of the Week status this season. Cutting Edge Sports Management, hosts of the Dream Bowl III, and Optimum Scouting recently released its September 22nd honorees, with Wallace as one of five players chosen among Division III institutions.

Wallace was selected after continuing his hot start to the season with yet another double digit tackle performance against Christopher Newport last Thursday. The Harrells, N.C. native accounted for 14 tackles, 11 of those being solo, and a forced fumble that was returned for a touchdown. In his first three games, Wallace leads the team with 34 total takedowns.

By virtue of his selection, Wallace now will receive an invitation to participate in Dream Bowl III, which will be played in Virginia Beach on January 19th, 2015.

Congratulations James!
