Rocky Mount, N.C. - N.C. Wesleyan's football program has officially posted its 2017 schedule, which features five games at Rocky Mount Athletic Stadium and is highlighted by its season opener on the road at D-III powerhouse Mount Union.
Wesleyan's 2017 season opener is slated for Saturday, September 2nd, at 12-time National Champion Mount Union. The game fulfills the home/away deal signed by the two teams a season ago and sends the Bishops to Alliance, Ohio for a 12:30pm kickoff. The 2017 match-up will be the second-ever meeting between the two schools after the Purple Raiders made their North Carolina debut last fall.
Following opening weekend, the Bishops will host their 2017 home opener versus Shenandoah University. This year's opener is slated for Saturday evening, September 9th, at 7:00pm at Rocky Mount Athletic Stadium. The Bishops then open up their conference schedule on the road at defending champion Huntingdon College on September 16th.
Other notable home games include a Homecoming tilt with Ferrum College on September 30th, as well as a Senior Day match-up with league-newcomer Brevard College on October 28th. All home conference games, in addition to the Brevard contest, will feature 1:00pm kick-offs.
