Bishop Football Shuts Out Greensboro

GREENSBORO, N.C.- The NC Wesleyan Football team cruised to a shutout win over conference foe Greensboro College (NC) on the road Saturday afternoon winning 38-0.

NCWC got off to an exciting start with standout senior WR Trey Lancaster catching a 70 yard pass from junior QB Donielle Totten less than a minute into the game.

Wesleyan then added their second touchdown of the first quarter just three minutes later when sophomore WR Dupre Falls caught a 15 yard TD pass from Totten. The Bishosp then wrapped up the quarter with a 10 play 80 yard drive that was capped by sophomore RB Jeffery Black's 10 yard run that put Wesleyan up 21-0.

NC Wesleyan then began the second quarter with another touchdown as senior RB Adrian Minondo ran in on a 10 yard scamper to put NCWC up 28-0. Minondo ended up rushing for 159 yards on the day on 20 carries averaging 8 yards/rush. 

After a Caleb Mann 31 yard field goal, Wesleyan capped the scoring in the half and the game when junior linebacker Antonio Johnson returned a 45 yard interception for a touchdown to help the Bishops go into the half up 38-0.

Wesleyan doubled GC's time of possession and had 10 more first downs than the Pride while outrushing them 228-12.

Defensively, junior linebacker Isaiah Williams led with 6 tackles on the day while junior defensive end Nathyn Frantz also registered two sacks. Johnson would also add a forced fumble to his day while sophomore linebacker TaBronze Carr also recorded a 25 yard interception on the day.

The Bishops, who improved to 3-1 on the year and 2-0 in the conference, are next in action when they return home next Saturday to host conference foe Averett University (Va.) on Scouts Night at 7 PM from RM Stadium.
