Matthew Nardo is entering his second season as the Offensive Coordinator and Wide Receivers Coach with the Battling Bishops football program.
He comes to the Bishops from Basehor-Linwood High School (Kan.) where he was the offensive line coach last season and helped the team reach the 4A state semifinals.
Before his high school coaching position, Nardo coached at NCAA D-2 Emporia State University (KS) as the passing game coordinator for two seasons, the offensive coordinator for another and recruiting coordinator in his first seasoni in 2014.
The season prior to working at Emporia, Nardo was the full-time assistant coach at the University of Pikeville in Kentucky (NAIA) in the 2013 season. For the 2011 and 2012 season, Nardo was also the full-time assistant coach at D-3 Marietta College in Ohio.
Nardo has also worked at D-3 Muskingum University in Ohio as the assistant coach for 3 seasons from 2005-2008 helping with the linebackers and defensive line.
Nardo graduated from Ohio University in 2005 with a B.S. in Sports Science Major in Sport Industry and a minor in Business and Coaching. He then got his Master's Degree in Adult Education in 2007 from Muskingum University.
Matt and his wife, Emily, reside in Rocky Mount with their son, Joseph.
