Rocky Mount, N.C. - Methodist University shot over 70 percent from the floor in the second half to turn a one-point halftime lead into an 11-point victory over the Battling Bishops on Wednesday night in Everett Gym. Prior to tip-off, Wesleyan recognized its three seniors: Jalen Cannady, Allen Hauser and Isaac Brown.

The Bishops led by as many as eight in the first half, but Methodist used a late run to take a slim 34-33 lead into intermission.

The second half saw the two teams battle through four lead changes and four ties, the last coming at 63-63 with 4:32 to go. Unfortunately, Methodist was able to force back-to-back Bishop turnovers on Wesleyan's next two possessions. The miscues were sandwiched by eight straight points from T.J. Gill and gave the Monarchs a lead they would not relinquish.

Bishop junior D.J. Weaver led all players with 16 points, while Gill paced a trio of Monarchs with 15 on the night.

The Battling Bishops (12-12, 6-7 USA South) wrap up their regular season on Sunday at Ferrum College. Tip-off is slated for 1:00pm.
