Bishop Men Win at Ferrum, 88-77, to Even USA South Record

Ferrum, Va. - The Battling Bishop men's basketball team turned in an impressive 88-77 road win at Ferrum College on Wednesday evening, topping the Panthers by an 88-77 score to even their USA South record at 5-5 on the season. Overall, Wesleyan now stands at 12-9.

The first half featured three ties and 14 lead changes as the two squads traded baskets over the first fifteen minutes of play. With the score knotted at 32-32 with 6:21 left in the period, the Bishops closed out the half with a 16-7 run to take a 48-39 lead into intermission. NCWC would not trail again, leading by as many as 14 early in the second half.

As a team, the hot-shooting Bishops knocked down nearly 60 percent of their attempts on the night, including a solid 10-for-18 showing from downtown. Sophomores Justin Tankelewicz and Chris Braswell combined to net nine of those treys, finishing with 23 and 19 points, respectively. They were joined in double-figures by A.J. Frye with 19 points and Adrian Moore with 12, while Robert Wilson grabbed a team-high nine rebounds.

Wesleyan continues league play on Saturday at William Peace. Tip-off is slated for 2:00pm in Raleigh.
