Moore and Frye Highlight USA South Postseason Awards

Fayetteville, N.C. - The USA South has released its postseason awards in the sport of men's basketball with a trio of Bishops earning recognition. Leading the way was freshman A.J. Frye as the league's Rookie of the Year.

Frye, a freshman from Wilmington, N.C., becomes the first Bishop to be named Rookie of the Year since 2007. He started every game this season and led the Conference in shooting percentage, making 63.6% (140-220) of his attempts from the field. Frye averaged 12.9 points, 4.7 rebounds, and 1.5 assists per game this winter, and in USA South action, he raised his averages to 15.5 points and 4.9 rebounds per outing. For his efforts this season, Frye was named USA South Rookie of the Week four times.

Also earning accolades were junior Adrian Moore and freshman Cameron Martin. Martin was the Bishops' representative on the league's All-Sportsmanship Team, while Moore picked up his second straight First Team All-Conference nod.

A native of Plymouth, N.C., Moore led the league in scoring at 20.8 points per game, while his 74 steals and 111 assists ranked first and second in the conference, respectively. The versatile guard eclipsed the 30-point mark four times this season, which included a 40-point showing versus USA South rival William Peace. Moore also secured the first career triple-double of his career on January 25th versus Methodist and joined Wesleyan's 1,000-point club on February 4th.

Elsewhere around the league, Averett University's Charles Bryant was named Player of the Year, while his coach, David Doino, earned Coach of the Year honors.
