Rocky Mount, N.C. - Junior A.J. Frye averaged 19 points and 7.5 rebounds over a pair of home games this weekend, helping his Bishops make it three wins in a row with a USA South sweep of Ferrum and Covenant in Everett Gym.

Play began with a Friday night tilt versus Ferrum College that saw the Bishops come away with an 81-58 victory. The Bishops shot nearly 50 percent from the floor on the night (33-of-67) and used a 17-7 run at the start of the second half to turn a 34-25 halftime advantage into a 19-point lead with 15:29 remaining. The Panthers (3-9, 1-3 USA South) would get no closer than 15 the rest of the way, with the Bishops leading by as many as 26 at one point.

Freshman Damon McDowell sparked Wesleyan with 15 points off the bench, while Frye matched him with 15 points and seven rebounds. Junior Chris Braswell and senior Adrian Moore added 14 and 10 points, respectively, to round out the Bishops' double-digit scorers.

D'Andre Mullen paced Ferrum with a team-high 14 points.

Wesleyan wrapped up play with a 94-85 win over Covenant College on Saturday. After leading 42-34 at the break, the Bishops controlled play for most of the second half and held an 11-point advantage with 7:06 to go, 73-62. The Scots, however, caught fire from behind the arc and used a 14-3 run over the next three minutes to knot the score at 76-76. Junior Robert Wilson answered for the Bishops on their next trip down the floor, and after a defensive stop, Braswell drained a trey of his own to put NCWC back up five, 81-76, with 2:46 left on the clock.

Covenant (7-6, 3-3 USA South) did not go down without a fight, but Wesleyan would knock down a perfect 8-of-8 attempts at the free throw line in the final minute to seal the victory.

Frye's 23 points led all players, while Wilson notched a double-double of 11 points and 13 rebounds. Moore and Braswell chipped in 15 and 13 points, respectively, and McDowell again led the bench scoring with 12.

Patjo Twagirayezu led four Scots in double-figures with 17 points on the day.

Wesleyan (7-7, 5-3 USA South) continues play at Piedmont and Brevard next Saturday and Sunday.
