Men's Basketball Player of the Week
A.J. Frye, N.C. Wesleyan - The junior center from Wilmington, North Carolina averaged a double-double of 20.5 points and 12.0 rebounds to go along with 6.0 assists and 1.0 steals per game as the Bishops won the Catholic University Holiday Tournament this past weekend. In an 83-70 win over Babson on Saturday, Frye posted a double-double of 16 points and ten rebounds with four assists and one steal. In a 91-65 victory over Medaille in the final on Sunday, Frye notched a double-double of 25 points and 14 rebounds to go along with eight assists and one steal. For his efforts, Frye was named as the USA South Men's Basketball Player of the Week.

Frye beat out five other conference nominees for the award also.

Frye along with being named MVP of the All-Tournament team at the Catholic Tournament, he ended up totaling 41 points, 24 rebounds, and 12 assists at the two-day event while leading the Bishops in points, rebounds, and assists in the final, falling just two assists shy of a triple-double.

He is averaging 16 points and 8 rebounds for the season while shooting 64 percent from the field and 50 percent from three in leading the Bishops to a 10-1 mark overall and 3-0 record in conference play.

He will next lead Wesleyan into conference play on Wednesday at home when they host LaGrange College (Ga.) at 2 PM in Everett Gymnasium.
