Greensboro, NC - The North Carolina Wesleyan men's basketball team defeated Greensboro College 87-66 Saturday. The Bishops got off to a hot start and led 44-22 at halftime and never looked back.
Senior forward Isaiah Lewis led the team in scoring with 22 points and 6 rebounds. He was followed by Marquis Eskew who had 13 and Brayden Dixon with 12. Shooting guard Austin Manley also came off the bench and contributed 12 points while knocking down 2 threes.
For the contest, the Bishops shot 53% from the field and over 40% from 3, which is a positive trend that has continued throughout the season.
On the defensive end, Wesleyan was able to hold the Pride to under 38% from the field, which is great to go along with the 20 turnovers forced.
With the win, the Bishops clinch at least a share of the regular season conference title. With a win at Brevard on Sunday, the men's basketball program will officially clinch first and home-court advantage in the USA South tournament.
