Cornelius Snow returned to the N.C. Wesleyan men's basketball program, as an assistant coach in 2022. Snow was a member of two USA South Regular Season Championship Teams and one USA South Tournament Champion during his playing career at Wesleyan. The 2013 graduate was also a USA South All-Academic performer in 2011 and 2012, as well as a team captain as a senior.
During the 2022-23 season, Coach Snow helped the Bishops go 23-5 (13-1 USA South), win both the USA South regular season and tournament titles, and advance to the NCAA Tournament.
“I am thrilled to have Cornelius on our staff. We have been fortunate to have numerous outstanding assistant coaches. He is another one. For people throughout North Carolina, and beyond, he is known as a first-rate recruiter. What people may not realize is how good he is in all the other phases of coaching. Our team benefits from his coaching in so many ways,“ stated Head Coach John Thompson.
Snow returns to his alma mater after spending three seasons as an assistant coach at Averett University and five years at the University of Mount Olive. Between those two stops, he has coached numerous all-conference players, a Rookie of the Year, a Player of the Year, a Defensive Player of the Year, in addition to winning two conference titles. During his time at Averett Snow earned a Master’s Degree in Business Administration.
“It is great to be back at my alma mater,” said Coach Snow. “This is family and I am excited that I can give back to this program, not only on the basketball floor, but in the classroom and in life, as well.”
