Jacksonville, N.C. - Led by senior David White's two-day 141 (-1), the men's golf team of North Carolina Wesleyan tied for a runner-up finish at the Marine FCU Intercollegiate hosted by Camp Lejeune. White carded a 71 (-1) on Paradise Point's Gold Course and followed up with an even 70 on the Scarlet Course. The Bishops qualified for the Gold Championship, but unfortunately, play was cut short on Sunday as the third and final round was canceled due to wet course conditions.

This year's tourney featured 149 golfers among 30 insitutions. After completing one round each on the par-72 Gold Course and par-70 Scarlet Course, the field was split in to championship and consolation fields. With team rounds of 302 (Gold) and 274 (Scarlet), the Battling Bishops finished tied for 2nd-place in the championship bracket with the University of Mary Washington. Methodist University took top honors with a two-day 565 (295-270, -3) to finish 11 strokes ahead of NCWC and UMW.

White's performance tied for 6th-place individually. Sophomore Mariano Silvestri (75-68) and freshman Juan de Giacomi (74-69) finished tied for 10th-place with two day totals of 143 (+1). Junior Grady Anderson bounced back from an 82 round on Friday to card a team-best 67 (-3) on Saturday, while Luke Thornton rounded out Wesleyan's scorers with rounds of 83 and 71.

Oglethorpe's Jake Arnett earned medalist honors with a two-day 138 (-4).

Next up for the Bishops is the Lynchburg Invitational slated for April 2-3 at Poplar Grove Golf Club in Amherst, Virginia.
