NCWC Golf in Lead after First Round of Don Scalf Invite

ROCKY MOUNT, N.C.- After the first round of their home Don Scalf Invitational on Sunday, the Battling Bishops Golf team of NCWC is leading the way as the men combined to shoot a first round 280 as a team.

They currently lead second place Greensboro College by six strokes and third place CNU (Va.) by nine in the 13 team field.

Leading the way for the Bishops and first overall in the tournament is junior Dustin Wood who shot a -4 under par 68. Tied for second place in the tournament are sophomore Juan de Giacomi and junior Mariano Silvestri who each shot 69s. 

Tied for 6th overall is senior Grady Anderson who shot a 74 to wrap up the scoring while sophomore Inaki Beitia was in 17th place with a 75 playing as an individual. Junior Luke Thornton and senior Alex Kidd were also tied for 34th after first round 78s while Nico Strafe was 41st with a 79 as all 8 Bishops finished under 80.

 

The Bishops tee off Monday morning at 9:00 AM for their second round from Belmont Lake Golf Club in Rocky Mount.
