    The N.C. Wesleyan men's soccer team wrapped up its regular season slate over the weekend with a pair of USA South road wins at Huntingdon and LaGrange. The Bishops downed the Hawks 2-1 on Saturday and knocked off the Panthers 1-0 on Sunday.

    Sophomore Caetano Viegas tallied his second straight game-winning goal on Saturday afternoon at Ferrum College, leading his Bishops to a 3-0 shutout of the Panthers on the road. With the win, Wesleyan improves to 8-4-1 overall, 4-1 in USA South play.
  • Bishop Men Knock Off Methodist, Women Fall in OT

    The men's and women's soccer teams of North Carolina Wesleyan hosted a USA South doubleheader with rival Methodist University on Wednesday afternoon at Scalf Field. The Battling Bishop men scored a trio of second half goals to seal a 3-1 victory in the opener, while NCWC's women dropped a tough 2-1 overtime decision to the Monarchs in the nightcap.

    Sophomore Sebastian Wiiala headed home the only goal of the match to lift North Carolina Wesleyan to a 1-0 victory over Maryville College in Friday afternoon's USA South men's soccer action at Scalf Field. Wiiala's score came in the 43rd minute and was assisted by Thorfinnur Thorfinnsson.

    Sophomore Charles Chapin tallied the first hat trick of his Bishop tenure on Wednesday afternoon at Scalf Field, leading his N.C. Wesleyan men's soccer squad to a 3-1 win over visiting Mary Washington. Chapin tallied scores in the 11th, 67th and 81st minutes to help the Bishops move to 4-2-1 overall entering USA South play.
  • Salisbury Golden Goal Sends Bishops to OT Loss

    In men's soccer action, Salisbury University's Brad Martinelli netted the golden goal in the 102nd minute to send N.C. Wesleyan to a tough 2-1 double overtime loss on Saturday afternoon in Maryland. Currently ranked #16 nationally by D3Soccer.com, the Sea Gulls remain undefeated on the season, while the Bishops now stand at 3-2-1 overall.

Wesleyan men's soccer team to a 5-3 come-from-behind victory over Guilford College at Scalf Field. The Battling Bishops erased an early 2-0 deficit with four unanswered goals to secure their third win of the season.

    The USA South Athletic Conference has released its weekly awards for September 8th, and two Battling Bishops earned honors in their respective sports. Freshman Anthony Janezic was tabbed the league's Defensive Rookie of the Week in football, while freshman Julius Oskarsson was named Rookie of the Week in men's soccer.

The draw came on the heels of a tough 4-3 road loss to 17th-ranked Christopher Newport on the road Friday. Wesleyan is now 2-1-1 to start the season.

    The Battling Bishop men's soccer team scored a trio of second half goals to tally a 3-0 win over Bridgewater College on Sunday afternoon in Fayetteville. The victory concluded Methodist University's season-opening tournament, which saw Wesleyan out-score its opponents 10-0 over the two-day span.

    The Battling Bishop men's soccer team opened its 2014 slate on Saturday afternoon with a dominating 7-0 victory over Cairn University in Fayetteville. Six different players scored goals for Wesleyan, beginning with freshman Julius Orkasson's eventual gamewinner just 24 seconds into the match.
