Fayetteville, N.C. - The USA South Athletic Conference has released its first Player of the Week awards for the 2014-2015 season. With four total points in two Bishops wins this weekend, freshman forward Julius Oskarsson was tabbed the league's Rookie of the Week in men's soccer.
A native of Reykjavik, Iceland, Oskarsson helped the Bishops go 2-0 at Methodist University's season-opening tournament in Fayetteville. In a 7-0 win over Cairn on Saturday, Oskarsson scored the match's first, and eventual gamewinning goal, just 24 seconds into the contest. He later assisted on the next goal four minutes later. In a 3-0 win over Bridgewater on Sunday, Oskarsson assisted on the first, and eventual game-winning goal, in the 60th minute.
