Rocky Mount, N.C. - The NCWC men's soccer team posted a pair of shutouts over the weekend at Scalf Field, downing Huntingdon and Brevard by 7-0 and 3-0 scores, respectively. Junior Sheriff Secka netted a trio of goals to pace the Bishops, who moved to 2-1 in USA South action.

Versus Huntingdon on Saturday, it took Secka less than four minutes to tally the eventual gamewinner with a penalty kick at the 3:40 mark. Aly Cadet and Ignacio Lerech later added unassisted scores in the 8th and 35th minutes to give the Bishops a 3-0 halftime lead. The second half saw NCWC again strike quickly with sophomore Kobi Boompong sending a shot off the post just 2:55 into the period. Secka, Baboucarr Njie, and Sky Pouchet-Benoit also tallied unassisted scores of their own to complete the scoring.

Statiscally, Wesleyan held a 22-4 advantage in shots and 3-1 edge in corners. Freshman keeper Jordan Williams made a trio of saves to earn the shutout, with Huntingdon's Zak Heino making seven saves for the Hawks.

Against Brevard on Sunday, a PK again provided the eventual gamewinner, this time from Njie in the 28th minute. It would remain a 1-0 game until the 58:49 mark when Lerech beat his defender for his second goal of the weekend. Secka provided the 3-0 final off an Njie assist with just over 10 minutes remaining.

Brevard keeper Eric Lenhart kept the Tornados in the game with 12 saves on 27 shots, while Williams secured his second straight shutout with four saves on 14 shots.

Wesleyan hosts a pair of USA South contests this week, beginning with a key battle versus Greensboro College on Wednesday. The match is slated for a 4:00pm start at Scalf Field.
