USA South Announces Postseason Awards in Men's Soccer

Fayetteville, N.C. - The USA South Athletic Conference has announced its postseason awards in the sport of men's soccer with seven Battling Bishops earning recognition at various positions, led by a trio of First Team All-League picks.

Sophomore Baboucarr Njie led the way with his second straight First Team honor in the midfield. Njie currently leads the team in scoring with nine goals and eight assists for 26 total points, which includes four gamewinning scores. He was joined on the First Team by forward Kobi Boompong, who ranked second on the squad with 23 points on nine goals and five assists.

Rounding out the First Teamers was junior Walid Yacoubou on defense. Yacoubou, along with Second Team selections Joseph Brooks and Jordan Williams, helped Wesleyan secure ten shutouts this fall. Brooks, a sophomore, helped Yacoubou anchor Wesleyan's back line, while Williams, a freshman keeper, tallied seven individual shutouts and a pair of USA South Defender of the Week honors.

Also garnering recognition for the Bishops was sophomore midfielder Ryan Halliday as an Honorable Mention. Halliday managed a trio of goals and two assists during the regular season. Junior Sheriff Secka wrapped up NCWC's honorees as a member of the league's All-Sportsmanship team.

Congrats to all seven of our Bishops for their well-deserved recognition!
