Men's Soccer Shuts Out Huntingdon

HUNTINGDON, Ala.- The NC Wesleyan Men's Soccer Team rolled to their second straight USA South victory by winning 4-0 at Huntingdon College Saturday afternoon.  

The Bishop's senior midfielder Sheriff Secka got Wesleyan on the board first in the 28th minute of action with his fourth goal of the season off an assist from freshman midfielder Carlos Felgueroso.  Wesleyan took that lead and a 15-4 shot advantage into the break.  

Freshman midfielder Aazah Daniel got the Bishop's second goal of the game in the 62nd minute off an assist from sophomore Lucas Menzo. Freshman Matteo Costa extended the Bishop lead to 3-0 with his goal in the 73rd minute off an assist from Daniel.  Daniel then finished off the scoring with his 2nd goal of the game in the 77th minute. Junior defender Peter Merritt assisted Daniel on the last goal.

Wesleyan outshot the Hawks 21-4 in the 2nd half and 36-8 overall.  

Wesleyan improves to 2-4 overall and 2-1 in the conference while Huntingdon falls to 2-6 overall and 1-2 in the USA South. 

The Bishops next return to action on Sunday when they turn around and play at LaGrange College (Ga.) at 2 PM.
