NC Wesleyan's Freshman forward Aazah Daniel was awarded the USA South Rookie of the Week Award on Monday for his stellar game last weekend.
Daniel, a native of Castries, St. Lucia, scored three goals and added an assist in a 1-0-1 week for the Battling Bishops as they played host to the two teams currently atop the USA South West Division standings. In a 5-1 win over Covenant, Daniel notched his first career hat trick with three goals, including an assist on the eventual game-winning goal. In a scoreless tie with Piedmont, Daniel was held without a shot. Daniel beat out 6 other nominees for the award.
Daniel now has 5 goals on the season and 2 assists for 12 points.
The Bishops, now 4-4-1 on the season, are next in action on Saturday when they travel to face Brevard College at 11 AM.
