Men's Soccer Pours it on to Rout Averett

ROCKY MOUNT, N.C. - The NC Wesleyan Men's Soccer team continued their terrific play of late routing conference foe Averett University (Va.) 4-0 at home Wednesday to extend their unbeaten streak to 7 games.

Wesleyan used two quick goals to get out to a nice advantage just 6 minutes into the game before adding two more in the first half and lead 4-0 at the break. Wesleyan then calmed down in the second half and cruised to the easy win improving to 6-4-1 overall and 6-1-1 in USA South play.

Freshman midfielder Dominique Giovannini got the Bishops off to a quick start with his third goal of the season, just two minutes into the game off an assist from sophomore forward Aly Cadet. Cadet then came right back four minutes later with his 5th goal of the season off a beautiful assist from freshman Aazah Daniel.

It was then Daniel's turn to get on the score sheet scoring his team-best 6th goal of the season in the 15th minute of action off an assist from Cadet, his second of the game. Finally, freshman forward Cadribo Godfrey then added the final tally for the Bishops scoring in the 36th minute off a Giovannini assist. It was Godfrey's 4th goal of the season while Daniel leads the team in points with 15.

the Bishops outshot the Cougars 17-3 overall for the win while goalkeepers Tobias Borzel and Julian Bergman each played a half.

NCWC remains at home to host Berea College (Ky.) on Saturday at 2 and Maryville College (Tenn.) on Sunday at 2:30 as well.
