Hard Fought Match Ends in 1-1 Tie

Rocky Mount, NC – The North Carolina Wesleyan University Men's Soccer team faced Hampton Sydney
College this Tuesday at Scalf Field ending in a 1-1 tie.
The Battling Bishops showcased a strong defensive performance in the first half and held the Tigers of
Hampton Sydney scoreless until the forty first minute mark of the match to end the first half with a 1-0
Hampton Sydney lead going into halftime.
The second half started strong offensively for the Battling Bishops with unassisted goal by Osei Darko at
the fifty-six-minute mark. The Battling Bishops continued a strong defensive performance by holding
Hampton Sydney scoreless in the second half.
Overall, goalie Fred Rogers saw five shots on goal, with four saves. The men will face Averett University
this Saturday at 4:00 at Scalf Field.
