Fayetteville, N.C. - The USA South has released is weekly awards for April 7th, and North Carolina Wesleyan is pleased to announce that sophomore Mikhail Konnov was tabbed the league's Player of the Week in men's tennis. A native of Yaroslav, Russia, Konnov earned a 2-0 record at #1 singles last week, while also posting a 1-0 mark at #1 doubles.
In singles, Konnov picked up straight-set victories over opponents from USA South foes Huntingdon and LaGrange, and in doubles, he teamed with Peter Hviid to collect a win at Huntingdon. Konnov was instrumental in helping his Battling Bishops capture their sixth straight USA South regular season crown by finishing 9-0 in league play.
