Fredricksburg, Va. - Sophomore Sebastian Sikh went 3-0 in doubles play and 2-1 in singles action to power his N.C. Wesleyan tennis team to a solid showing at this past weekend's Mary Washington Fall Invitational.

In his first doubles action since his National Championship appearance in May, Sikh did not miss a beat, teaming with freshman Ioannis Brokakis to go 3-0 in Flight One. The duo posted 8-6, 9-8 (5) and 9-8 (5) wins over opponents from Washington & Lee, George Mason and Mary Washington, respectively.

Also picking up doubles wins for the Bishops in Flights Two, Three and Four were the teams of Richard Gende/Eduardo Ugalde, Mark Sokolov/Lucas Andrada and J.D. Telles/Ben Tolhurst.  All three victories came against Washington & Lee.

In singles play, feshman Jaime Ortega went undefeated with a trio of victories in Flight Six, while Sikh and Brokakis each posted pair of wins... their only losses coming to Division I George Mason. Gende, Telles, Ugalde and Sokolov managed a victory apiece in their respective flights to wrap up play.

In his first tournament at the helm of the program, head coach Dustin Hale praised the performance of his team, stating, "We were able to pick up some really big wins over top competition this weekend. I am proud of how our guys competed and look forward to building on this experience."

The Bishops will compete in their second tournament of the fall next weekend when they travel to Sewanee, Tenn. for the ITA Fall Regional.
