Battling Bishop Tennis to Face Thomas More in NCAA Opening Round

Rocky Mount, N.C. - After capturing a ninth straight USA South Tournament crown and NCAA berth back on April 15th, the North Carolina Wesleyan men's tennis team has waited three weeks to learn its fate for the upcoming Division III Tournament. One of 43 teams to make the field, the Battling Bishops are now set to face President's Athletic Conference champion Thomas More this Friday, May 12th, in first round play.

Emory University will serve as host, meaning that both the 32nd-ranked Bishops (19-4) and Saints (14-5-2) will travel to Atlanta, Ga. for their regional match-up, marking the first-ever meeting between the two squads. Friday's match time will be released on Tuesday, with the winner advancing to take on #2 Emory (17-4) in Saturday's regional semifinal.

The victor of Saturday's match moves into Sunday's regional final to face either #22 Sewanee (21-3), the Southern Athletic Association champ, or #29 Washington and Lee (16-6), winners of the Old Dominion Athletic Conference crown.
