Hilton Head, S.C. - The NCWC men's tennis team won its 8th straight match on Friday, sweeping Mount Union 9-0 to finish 4-0 over Spring Break in Hilton Head. As a team, the Bishops out-scored their opponents 33-2 on the week, which included an 8-0 shutout of USA South rival Methodist University on Wednesday. Junior Mark Sokolov led the way with a perfect 4-0 record in singles action.
NCWC opened play on Monday with 9-0 win over St. John Fisher and followed up on Tuesday with a 7-2 victory over Wilkes. Combined with Wednesday and Friday's victories over Methodist and Mount Union, the Bishops finished with a 12-0 mark in doubles play on the week.
As a team, ten different NCWC players picked up singles victories, while seven various doubles tandems were victorious over the 4-match span.
Now 8-3 overall, the Bishops will split their squad for a pair of road matches on Wednesday at William Peace and Barton. Both matches are slated for 3:00pm starts.
