Bishops Sweep USA South Weekly Awards in Men's Tennis

Fayetteville, N.C. - The USA South Athletic Conference has released its weekly honors for February 26th with the Battling Bishop duo of Sebastian Sikh and Aditya Iyer sweeping the awards in the sport of men's tennis. These are their first accolades of the young season.

Men's Tennis Player of the Week
Sebastian Sikh, N.C. Wesleyan - The senior from Eskilstuna, Sweden earned a 2-0 record at #1 singles and a 1-1 mark at the top doubles position last week for the Bishops against two nationally-ranked teams. The singles victories came over top-ranked opponents from 28th-ranked Christopher Newport and 15th-ranked Case Western Reserve, both in straight sets. In doubles, Sikh teamed with junior Ioannis Brokakis for a win over Christopher Newport. 

Men's Tennis Rookie of the Week
Aditya Iyer, N.C. Wesleyan - The freshman from Pune, India earned a 2-0 record at the #3 singles and the #2 doubles positions last week for the Bishops. The singles victories came in straight sets over opponents from #28 CNU and #15 CWRU. In doubles, Iyer teamed with junior J.D. Telles for a pair of wins that saw them surrender just five total games.
