Men's Track Competes at Mount Olive

MOUNT OLIVE, N.C. - The NC Wesleyan College men's track and field team competed at the Div. II Mount Olive Trojan Challenge on Saturday.

Senior Keyonte Williams led the sprinters finishing 7th in the 400 meter hurdles in one minute flat finishing 1st among D-3 athletes. Junior Philly Barungi then placed 3rd out of 7 in the 300 meter steeplechase with a time of 10:53.

Senior Luis Ross  finishing 33rd out of 45 in the 200 meters with a time of 24.3 seconds while freshman Abu Dolley was 40th in 24.9 seconds.

Sophomore Noah Strange then placed 24th out of 36 in the 400 meters with a time of 54.2 seconds while Ross was 29th in 54.9. Freshman Ayden Harper then placed 21st in the 800 meters in a time of 2:19.

In the field events, sophomore Sherfield Smith led the shot putters with a mark of 10.65 meters to place 21st out of 31 while freshman Malik Anderson was 23rd with a mark of 9.46 meters. Anderson then led the Bishops placing 19th in the discus throw with a mark of 35 meters while Jarelle Simmons made his debut with a mark of 20.8 meters to place 28th.

The Bishops will next be competing in the Aggie Invitational hosted by NC A&T in Greensboro on April 8 and 9.
