ROCKY MOUNT, N.C. - The USA South Presidents recently approved North Carolina Wesleyan College to host the 2019 USA South Conference Men's and Women's Cross Country Championships on October 26, 2019 at 11 AM and Noon.

"I'm excited to share that the USA South presidents approved NC Wesleyan to host the 2019 Cross Country Championships (October 26 at 11am & 12noon)," said Director of Athletics Aaron Denton. "While the championships will require a lot of effort from across our campus and community we are excited to be hosting these events and hope they will benefit our teams as well."

Head Cross Country Coach Marshall Leonard commented on being the championship host as well. "I am thrilled that NC Wesleyan will be hosting the 2019 USA SOUTH Cross Country Championship.  It is comforting to have the majority of the cross country coaches in our conference to have the trust in us to create a positive running event. 

"I plan on making this a memorable event, and our AD is dedicated to making this event one of the best in USA South history.  NC Wesleyan has a beautiful campus, and the runners will get a chance to run through our great scenery.  Plus this will be the 1st chance for our student body to come out and cheer on our successful cross country teams.  Our running program has a bright future and it is exciting to give our student body a chance to see us perform at a high level."

NC Wesleyan is also going to put on and host a preview cross country event a month before the championships on Sat., Sept. 21 for some USA South teams.
