Staunton, Va. - Sophomore Nadiya Holley netted a season-high 14 points on Sunday afternoon to help lift her Bishop women's basketball team to a 68-48 USA South victory at Mary Baldwin University. The win came on the heels of a 69-52 loss at division-leading Ferrum College on Saturday.

Versus Baldwin on Sunday, the Bishops found themselves down 25-23 at the half after shooting just 25 percent from the floor (10-for-40). Wesleyan tied the game early in the third quarter and then used a 7-0 run midway the period to forge an eventual 44-39 lead entering the final period.

In the fourth quarter, the Bishops blistered the nets for 24 points on 8-of-14 shooting, including a 3-of-3 clip from behind the arc. Holley scored eight of her points in the fourth quarter alone to help NCWC pull away for the win. As a team, the Bishops shot nearly 55 percent in the second half.

Holley was one of three Bishops players to notch double-figures off the bench, which provided 41 of the team's 68 points in the contest. Sophomores Christina Lewis and Tylecia Williams also turned in season-highs of 12 and 10 points, respectively.

MBU was led by Aayana Nedd's game-high 22 points.

Previously on Saturday, the Bishops could not overcome a quick start by the Panthers in falling by 17 at Ferrum. Senior Timyra Staton narrowly missed a double-double with 12 points and nine rebounds.

Wesleyan is now 10-12 overall, 5-6 in conference play. The Bishops will have a quick turnaround against Baldwin as they prepare to host the Squirrels on Wednesday. Tip-off is slated for 5:30pm in Everett Gymnasium, and head coach Artina Trader will be honoring her senior class prior to the game.
