NCWC Women Cruise to 72-35 Win over Baldwin on Senior Night

Rocky Mount, N.C. - The NCWC women's basketball team celebrated Senior Night on Wednesday, cruising to a 72-35 win over Mary Baldwin in the final game at Everett Gym for Alexis Fitzgerald and Timyra Staton. The two senior captains enjoyed a productive night, combining for 20 points, six rebounds, seven assists, and three steals.

Though MBU managed a couple of early ties, the Bishops never trailed in the contest. Up 18-11 after one quarter of play, Wesleyan out-scored Baldwin 20-2 in the second period to open up a comfortable 38-13 advantage at the half.

It was more of the same in the third and fourth quarters as NCWC shot a solid 46 percent from the floor on the night. Staton's 16 points led all players, while KeChae Parker and Tylecia Williams added 11 points apiece. Sophomore Daijah Davis rounded out the Bishops' double-digit scorers with 10 points and five assists.

Wesleyan is now 11-12 overall, 6-6 in USA South play. The Bishops wrap up their regular season schedule on Saturday and Sunday at Greenboro and William Peace, respectively. Both games are slated for 4:00pm starts.
