Fayetteville, N.C. - The USA South has released its weekly awards for December 11th, and the N.C. Wesleyan women's basketball program is pleased to announce that freshman guard Kayla Johnson has earned Rookie of the Week honors.

A native of Annapolis, Maryland, Johnson picks up the first league recognition of her career after averaging 10.0 points, 3.0 rebounds and 1.0 assist in a pair of games last week. In an 82-59 loss to USA South foe Averett, Johnson totaled seven points, four rebounds, two assists and one steal. In a 70-62 loss to Lynchburg, she netted 13 points and grabbed two boards.
