Fayetteville, N.C. - The USA South has released it weekly awards for December 18th, and for the second straight week, a Battling Bishop earned Rookie of the Week accolades as freshman Javana Jones picked up her first league honor.
A native of Gaithersburg, Maryland, the rookie guard averaged 7.5 points, 7.0 rebounds and 1.0 assists per game as the Bishops posted a 2-0 record last week. In a 62-60 win over Shenandoah, Jones totaled four points, six rebounds, one assist, and one block. In a 75-65 victory over Virginia Wesleyan, Jones posted 11 points, eight rebounds, and two steals.
