Fayetteville, N.C. - The USA South Athletic Conference has released its weekly basketball awards for January 8th, with N.C. Wesleyan's Javana Jones earning her second Rookie of the Week award of the season.
The freshman guard from Gaithersburg, Md. averaged 9.0 points, 8.5 rebounds, and 1.5 blocks per game last week as the Battling Bishops posted a 1-1 record versus USA South competition. In a 94-89 overtime loss to Greensboro, Jones totaled 11 points, seven rebounds, a career-high three blocks, and one assist. In a 71-66 victory over Salem, Jones posted seven points and a career-high ten rebounds.
