Bishop Lax Season Comes to an End Versus CNU

Rocky Mount, N.C. - North Carolina Wesleyan's 2013 lacrosse season came to an end on Wednesday afternoon with a 26-1 loss to nationally-ranked Christopher Newport. Haley Hopkins tallied the Bishops' lone score, while fellow freshman Marissa Santos made four stops in goal.

Despite finishing the season 0-12, first-year head coach Emily Miller's Battling Bishops were much improved statistically. Wesleyan more than doubled its goals-per-game average from last season, while getting off more shots, controlling more draws, causing more turnovers and recording more ground balls in the process.

The Bishops were led this season by lone senior Ashley Marks with a team-high 16 goals and 18 points.
