  • Athletics Hosts 49th Annual Awards Ceremony

    The North Carolina Wesleyan Department of Athletics hosted its 49th Annual Awards Ceremony on Wednesday, April 23rd, in Minges Auditorium of the Dunn Center. Coaches, staff and student-athletes came together to celebrate the accomplishments of both individuals and teams from the 2013-2014 season.

    The USA South Athletic Conference held its 2014 Spring Festival Awards Banquet on Friday night, April 11th, on the campus of North Carolina Wesleyan College. In women's lacrosse, Bishop junior Tikeyah Shaw was awarded her team's All-Sportsmanship Award!
  • Wesleyan Lax Season Comes to an End at Methodist

    N.C. Wesleyan's lacrosse team saw its 2014 season come to an end on Friday afternoon with a 25-5 loss at Methodist University. The Battling Bishops end the season with a 1-10 overall record and 1-7 league mark.
  • Bishop Lax Honors Seniors, Wraps Up Home Slate

    North Carolina Wesleyan's lacrosse team wrapped up its 2014 home schedule on Sunday afternoon at Scalf Field, falling to Greensboro College by a 22-4 score. Prior to the match, head coach Vicky Gentile honored the two senior members of her squad: Danyelle Rube and Laine Hicks. The match saw Rube notch two caused turnovers and a pair of ground balls, while Hicks netted two goals on the day.
  • NCWC Lax Downs Agnes Scott for First Win, 14-11

    N.C. Wesleyan's lacrosse squad picked up its first win of the season on Saturday afternoon, downing USA South foe Agnes Scott College by a 14-11 score at Scalf Field. Freshman Molly Lewis tallied a match-high seven goals, while junior Tikeyah Shaw notched a trio of scores with two assists. The win is the first over the Scotties in Battling Bishop lacrosse history.

  • Bishops Drop Lacrosse Opener to Chowan, 19-7

    North Carolina Wesleyan's lacrosse team opened its 2014 schedule on Tuesday afternoon, dropping a 19-7 decision to Division II Chowan University at Scalf Field. Freshman Molly Lewis scored a trio of goals in her collegiate debut, while also securing five draws and three ground balls.
  • USA South Releases Preseason Poll for Lacrosse

    The USA South Athletic Conference has released it preseason coaches poll for lacrosse, with the Battling Bishops being picked to finish ninth overall. With six first-place votes, Ferrum College is the preseason favorite to capture the league's regular season crown.
  • Bishops Honor Local Heroes With 9/11 Passes
    September 16, 2013
    September 11th is a time for remembering our fallen heroes from New York to Pennsylvania to Washington, D.C. It is also a time to recognize those local heroes that risk their lives daily to insure the safety of our Rocky Mount community. For this reason, the student-athletes of North Carolina Wesleyan annually honor our local policemen and firefighters by distributing season passes for all Battling Bishop sporting events.
