Demorest, Ga. / Brevard, N.C. - The N.C. Wesleyan lacrosse team dropped a pair of road matches at Piedmont and Brevard over the weekend, falling by 21-5 and 20-4 scores on Saturday and Sunday, respectively. Freshman Alexandra Cucinotta tallied seven goals and controlled 13 draws over the two matches to pace the Bishops.
Versus Piedmont on Saturday, Cucinotta scored all five of Wesleyan's goals after getting off eight shots-on-goal. She added a trio of ground balls, while goalie Sydney Smith made seven saves in net.
At Brevard on Sunday, Cucinotta added two more goals and five draw controls. Michaela Nicholas tallied two of the Bishops' three second half scores, with Smith adding 15 more saves in goal.
Wesleyan (0-8, 0-3 USA South) travels to Hollins College on Wednesday for a 4:30pm non-conference match.
